JCQ Productions
commits to
the promotion
of South African
and African
music globally.
JCQ Productions
celebrates
a Decade of
international
crusade of
spreading
this rich
cultural heritage
across the
world.
A nation with
a cultural
tapestry as
colorful as
South Africa's
boasts a rich
and diverse
musical history.
To protect
this heritage,
talent and
musical expression
in all South
Africa's communities
must be encouraged,
developed
and profiled.
This is the
philosophic
objective
of JCQ
Productions.
As an event
and artist
management
company, JCQ
aims at presenting
all forms
of music,
across diverse
cultures,
with distinctive
style.
JCQ Productions
has it's roots
at the very
heart of Cape
Town's formal
and informal
music industries
and the signature
of the team's
productions
has been making
music accessible
to art lover's
at a grassroots
level by tapping
into community
networks.
JCQ Productions
has managed
to blend the
unique, creative
and organisational
talents of
its three
original and
primary members
into a highly
effective
and efficient
team. It is
this teamwork,
together with
the motto
of "Creative
Freedom"
that has transformed
Jazzathon
- JCQ's Premier
event - from
a conception
into an internationally
recognised
jazz festival.
The achievement
of this goal,
in such a
short space
of time, within
the parameters
of the Jazzathon
objectives,
is a tribute
to the team's
ability to
remain focussed
without neglecting
it's social
responsibilities
to the community
at large.
The hands
on management
style of the
team has resulted
in the formation
of solid working
relationships
with all main
role players
who contribute
to the ultimate
success of
the event.
JCQ Productions,
formed in
1996 was only
officially
recognised
in 2002. Since
then the company
faced a severe
challenge
in February
2003 when
its primary
member, John
Esterhuizen,
passed away
suddenly.
However, the
company remains
on target
with set objectives
and is more
determined
to succeed
based on the
original vision
as proposed
at the birth
of this company.
Then, when
a good friend
challenged
three guys
- who had
so much passion
and experience,
within the
biggest industry
in the world
- to do something
positive in
taking the
music business
to another
level
